OTP began in 1963 as a small Columbus, Ohio-based industrial supply distributor of mechanical power transmission equipment and pumps. From the very beginning, our company leaders stressed the importance of hiring and developing the best quality employees, treating them right and coupling their talents with a wide range of products from top vendors—as well as state-of-the-art operating and logistics systems—to provide customers with the best quality products and services at the lowest possible costs.
This business model, along with the owners’ commitment to integrity and fairness in all transactions with customers, suppliers and associates, allowed OTP to grow rapidly. Now, more than 45 years later, OTP, along with our Air Technologies® division, is a successful employee-owned company that maintains multiple locations throughout the Midwest and, most recently, in Texas. Our business is staffed by more than 300 associate-owners who share the founder’s vision for delivering value along with excellent service and working with integrity.
OTP is already among the largest industrial distributors in the United States, and we are continuing to grow. Yet, even as our size and strength gives us the resources to drive continuous improvement and lower costs, our greatest strength is in the local decision-making of our people, giving us the flexibility to respond quickly to your needs.
